Study Single subjects
St Mark’s, in partnership with Charles Sturt University, offers you the flexibility to engage with individual units of study through our single-subject enrolment program.
Single subject enrolment program
Whether you’re a ministry practitioner seeking to deepen your understanding of Scripture, a lay leader wanting to explore theology in context, or simply someone with a passion for theological reflection, you can select from a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate subjects without committing to a full degree.
Our single-subject courses are delivered on-campus and online, letting you balance study with your personal and professional life. You’ll learn alongside degree-enrolled students, enjoy access to the same world-class resources and research-active staff, and—should you later decide to pursue a full qualification—your completed single subjects may count as credit toward an undergraduate or Higher Degree by Research program. Start where you are, study what you love, and discover how focused theological study at St Mark’s can enrich your vocation and community engagement.

Studying a single subject is an ideal way to explore our Theology courses without committing to a full degree program.
How to apply
1. Choose your subject
Visit Charles Sturt’s single subject study page and browse available undergraduate (100–400 level) and postgraduate (500–600 level) Theology units. Confirm the mode (online or on-campus) and check for any prerequisites (e.g., previous study or specific subject requirements)
2. Prepare required documents
If the subject has prerequisites, include your academic transcripts.
3. Apply online
Create or sign in to your Charles Sturt University application account via the “Start your application” portal. Select your subject, upload documents, and submit your application. The process takes around 15 minutes and is assessed within about 10 working days
4. Pay your fees
Fees are charged per 8‑point subject and are the same online or on-campus. Domestic undergraduates fall into one of several bands; postgraduate subjects are priced by faculty (e.g., Arts/Theology: AUD 3,620 at the time of writing). These must be paid upfront (no HECS-HELP for single subjects).
5. Receive your offer and enrol
Once assessed, you’ll get a letter of offer with payment details and enrolment instructions. After payment, follow the enrolment process via Subject Enrolment in your Student Portal for the relevant session.
