FAQ’s

This page provides answers to common question regarding the use of our library.  If you are unable to find the information you are looking for here, please don’t hesitate to contact the library. 

Library access

Do you have wheelchair/walker access?

We do have disabled access to the library. Disabled parking is available in front of the library entrance (entrance on Blackall St).

Do you have free parking?

Yes, free parking is available for students and members of the public visiting our grounds. Please enter P1 on 15 Blackall Street — just press the buzzer on the boom gate and state the reason for your visit. Someone will let you in.

Library facilities

Is printing, copying, and/or scanning available at St Mark's library?

Printing, copying and scanning is available at the Library:

  • Charles Sturt students and staff can print, copy and scan using their current Charles Sturt card.
  • Visitors to St Mark’s Library: Please see library staff to access copying facilities.

Is there free WIFI access at the St Mark's library? If so, how do I connect to it?

Yes.

 

Charles Sturt students and staff:

  • Select the eduroam SSID
  • Enter your Charles Sturt login id in the format [email protected]
  • Support and configuration information can be found at wireless.csu.edu.au

Visitors to St Mark’s Library:

  • Select 'St Mark's Guest' network.
  • Please see library staff for login details.

Borrow, renew, return

Can I extend the period of my loan?

Yes, you may request an extension provided that you do so before the due date.

However, if your item has been requested by another borrower, you will not be able to renew the loan of your item at that time. In such a case, you will be required to return the item by the due date.  You will be able to put in a request to reserve the item/s for you after they are returned by the previous borrower.

Lost, damaged, or overdue?

Can I renew an overdue book?

No. Overdue items cannot be renewed by borrowers. Please contact our library staff for assistance.

How do I renew/extend my loan period?

Charles Sturt students and staff can renew loans via the Charles Sturt University Primo website. 

Items can't be renewed if:

  • Loans are more than 28 days overdue
  • Unpaid fees are $100 or more
  • The item has been requested
  • Renewal limits for that item have been reached
Can I return my books after hours?

We have an after-hours returns chute that is located just outside the main entrance of our library.

Can I obtain an electronic scan of a printed resource held by St Mark's Library?

Yes, you can obtain digitised  (electronically scanned) copies of printed material on request. 

Requests for book chapters, table of contents, and/or journal articles will manually be scanned and then sent to you via Charles Sturt Primo, once ready. 

Please note that copyright restrictions apply.

Does St Mark's offer interlibrary loans (ILL) services?

Yes

Charles Sturt Interlibrary Loans:

Charles Sturt students and staff can request journal articles, books and other items not held by the library; see Charles Sturt interlibrary loan service. Fees may apply.

ILL & Document Delivery to other libraries:

St Mark’s Library may supply loan and copy requests of materials from our collections to requesting Australian libraries and institutions.  Send requests by email to [email protected].

Borrowing from another library

Charles Sturt staff and students may register to borrow from the following universities and colleges Participating ULANZ university libraries. Charges apply at some libraries.

Does St Mark's off home delivery of printed loaned items?

Yes.

Eligible Charles Sturt students and staff can request books and other material from Charles Sturt libraries to be delivered to their home address. Free return postage is available within Australia. The Library provides one return postage label in each parcel.
