Intensives
On-campus intensives during the session break
Intensives
Online (Distance) students have the opportunity to attend intensives during semester breaks. Some are optional whilst others are compulsory. St Mark’s staff would love to meet online students and would encourage as many students as possible to come to our Intensives.
NOTE: Intensive dates listed should be correct, but please check the CSU subject outline (SO) when it becomes available because the SO is the final source of authority.

Preparing for your visit
LOCATION
The street address for St Mark’s NTC is 15 Blackall St, Barton. If you travel from Kings Ave, the second boom gate on the left (P1) is the St Mark’s carpark. Parking is free onsite and accessed through a boom gate that will open when tapped with your student card, or you can press a button for assistance from 8:30am. Your residential will be held in one of the classrooms of the main St Mark’s building on the right of the car park and you will need to sign in at the desk in the foyer as you enter. You will be directed to your classroom.
CATERING
There is a student kitchen at St Mark’s where you can help yourself to tea, coffee, milk and biscuits at any time. The kitchen also has a fridge, microwave, ovens, and toaster for your use. Classes break each morning for chapel and morning tea and then for a lunch break of around 1 hour. There will be a catered lunch on at least one of the days of your residential so you should let your lecturer know if you have dietary restrictions so that we can cater accordingly. There are a number of cafés and a small supermarket nearby for coffee, snacks and meals.
ACCOMMODATION
St Mark’s does not have any on-site student accommodation, but we can recommend one of the following options, some of which work best if you have your own car:
- Forrest Hotel and Apartments, 30 National Circuit, Forrest
- Ibis Styles Canberra, 203 Goyder Street, Narrabundah, 2604 Canberra, Australia
- Canberra, Short Term and Holiday Accommodation, 47 McMillan Crescent, Griffith, 2603 Canberra, Australia
- Abode, Narrabundah, 61 Jerrabomberra Avenue, Narrabundah, 2604 Canberra, Australia
We have a few options for private billeting, but that will need to be arranged well ahead of time. Please contact our front office to explore these options.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
CSU students attending mandatory intensive courses may be eligible for financial assistance through the Residential School Equity Grant. See the CSU website for more details.
What Our Students Say
What Our Students Say
“The residential was one of the best experiences so far. It was lovely to see people in ‘real life’ and to be part of a faith and learning community for the time we were all there.”
